Incident Of The Week:

Nov. 11

  • ASHES TO FIRE: Cumberland Place. Firefighters were called to a fire near a house. When units arrived on scene they found a section of fence, a pile of garbage mixed with yard waste on fire. Once the firefighters put the fire out they used a thermal imaging unit to make sure the fire was out. The homeowner said he threw ashes into the yard waste pile earlier that day. Residents are advised to ensure that ashes are cool and wet before they throw them out. It may take a few days for a fire to start with smoldering ashes so they may not be around when a fire ignites.
