Wind Advisory in effect through 6 p.m.

The National weather Service has issued a wind advisory for the foothills of King County, in effect until 6 p.m.

Gusty winds are expected to develop this afternoon as a strong front passes through the region. Wind will be increasing from the south at 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 45 mph.

The strongest winds are expected between 1 and 5 p.m.

The wind may snap small tree branches or topple small, shallow trees, as well as potentially cause power outages.
