December 26, 2012 · 4:59 PM

Famed "Candy Bomber," Col. Gail S. Halvorsen, USAF (retired) will be speaking about his role in the 1948-49 Berlin Airlift and how one act of kindness would change his life forever.

Wonderful stories and beautiful lessons learned are woven in the telling of this timeless story from a man now well into his 90's but still traveling the globe inspiring others to seek "service before self" and "out of small things come great things", and continuing to be a goodwill ambassador wherever he goes.

Halvorsen will speak at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1316 Ryan Rd., Buckley. The event is free and open to the public.
