Rock blasting on Snoqualmie Pass

Drivers need to be prepared for nightly closures on Interstate 90 over Snoqualmie Pass next week for rock blasting starting at 7 p.m. Closures may exceed two hours on Aug. 5 , 6 and 8. The Aug. 7 closure is planned for one hour.

The Washington State Department of Transportation and contractor crews plan to close I-90 in both directions eastbound at Gold Creek (milepost 56) and westbound at Price Creek (milepost 61) and Easton (for the extended closures). A reopening time depends on the amount of debris that comes down and repairs needed to the highway. Drivers need to plan for two or more hours of added travel time.

Drivers will also experience delays due to multiple construction zones from North Bend to Ellensburg Monday through Friday.

It’s a busy summer for construction and drivers need to plan their trips ahead of time. WSDOT provides a variety of tools to navigate over I-90:
