Motorists who frequent Warner Avenue may want to alter their regular travel plans, as the city of Enumclaw will be closing a stretch of the much-traveled roadway for about a month.

The city has announced Warner will close today, Wednesday, between Blake and Watson streets, so crews can smooth the bone-jarring pavement.

Work is expected to last until about Nov. 7.

During that time, crews will be rebuilding the roadway, installing curbs, gutters, sidewalks and storm drains, and doing minor utility work.

The contractor, Woodworth Construction, will be installing a traffic detour route while work is in progress. Access for local property owners within the construction zone will be provided.

Updates as to the project's progress will be posted on the city's Web site.
