Gorge boosters set information meeting
April 30, 2009 · Updated 2:33 PM
Those seeking to protect the natural wonders found in the Green River Gorge are invited to a community meeting next week at Enumclaw Public Library.
The session, sponsored by the Middle Green River Coalition, is planned for 7 to 9 p.m., Nov. 10.
The meeting is designed to share information about efforts to preserve land throughout the gorge and promote a vision called the Green River Gorge Mountains to Valley Greenway. Those attending will learn what the state has done to preserve the gorge over the course of the last three decades, hear details of housing developments in the Deep Lake area and learn of the work the Middle Green River Coalition has been doing to purchase open space along the gorge.
Also presented will be a photographic tour of the gorge, set to music.
