Fire District Proposition Update

The East Pierce Fire and Rescue District 22 lid lift proposition was passing as of Wednesday morning, with unofficial results showing 2,273 "yes" votes (51.03 percent) and 2,181 "no" votes (48.97 percent).

Passage requires a simple majority.

District 12 and District 20 campaigned with District 22, but each district is separate in terms of the outcome. Voters in each of the three districts could approve or reject the measure and be taxed accordingly.

As of Wednesday, District 12 was failing 45.59 percent (621 "yes" votes) to 54.41 percent (741 "no" votes). District 20 was passing 56.28 percent (242 votes) to 43.72 percent (188 votes).
