A public hearing to exchange ideas regarding proposed updates of the parks, trails and recreation plan has been announced by the city of Buckley.

The open house is planned for 6:15 p.m. Jan. 28 in the Multi Purpose Center, 811 Main St.

Specifically, public input is needed on three aspects of the Buckley Parks and Recreation plan – safe routes, active living and recreation and tourism. The meeting will review issues like:

• what kind of infrastucture should the city develop to ensure safe walking routes, especially for children and seniors?

• with the White River bordering the city limits and Mount Rainier in the background giving the Buckley a solid foundation for a recreation-based economy, what should the city invest in to create a framework that fosters economic growth?

Questions or written comments may be directed to Associate City Planner Suriaya Rashid at 360-829-1921 ext. 207, e-mailed to Councilman James Montgomery at greenisyoda@gmail.com and or mailed to City of Buckley, P.O. Box 1960, Buckley 98321 prior to Jan. 28 in care of Rashid or Montgomery.
