Tax assistance available at two locations

Tax season is here and the Enumclaw Public Library and the Enumclaw Senior Activity Center are providing free tax assistance.

The service is provided by trained volunteers and is available for low and middle income taxpayers, with special attention for those 60 and older. Working families and individuals can receive larger refunds with the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC). A qualified family with two or more children can receive up to $4,824. An individual worker without children could be eligible for a tax credit up to $438.

Beginning Feb. 9 and running through April 8 assistance will be available at the Enumclaw Public Library, from 6 to 8 p.m. Mondays and from 2:45 to 5 p.m. Tuesdays.

To schedule an appointment, call 360-825-2938. In addition, appointments can be scheduled from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesdays at the Enumclaw senior center. Call 360-825-4741 to schedule a time.
