A free “Aging in Place” seminar is planned for April 13 at Buckley Senior Center. The event will run from 10:30 a.m. to noon.

Senior Center Director Jennifer Bacon said the event will be designed to provide seniors with information on long-term or in-home health care, home remodeling, financial planning and reverse mortgages. After a short presentation from local experts in these areas, presenters will be available to answer individual questions and hand out free materials.

It is hoped this event will begin a Buckley- or Plateau-based Aging In Place Council, to help coordinate events and information important to the long-term well-being of local residents.

Members of the so-called “Sandwich Generation,” those who find themselves taking care of aging parents as well as their own children, are also encouraged to attend.

For information, contact Bacon at 360-829-1921, extension 210, or event coordinator Ed Hoffmann at 253-475-9000.
