Fair to feature free admission

Working to provide an opportunity for families to attend and enjoy Enumclaw’s King County Fair, event managers announced Friday that admission will be free for everyone, every day.

The fair, operated this year by the city of Enumclaw, is planned for July 16-18.

While there will be no charge to get onto the grounds, parking will be $5 for each car, each day.

One of the primary goals for this year’s event is to at least double the attendance from the 2008 edition of the fair, which was pegged at 17,000.

Fair management is bringing back the carnival and is planning at least two stages of free entertainment and traditional fair food. Additionally, plans are under way to fill the Exhibit Hall with commercial vendors and showcase the exhibits and animals of 4-H, FFA and open class competitors.
