Buckley treatment plant moves forward
April 27, 2009 · Updated 9:27 PM
The final completion date for Buckley’s new $11.5 million wastewater treatment plant has been moved forward to Sept. 1, but the main warranty has been in effect since March 11, so the city’s hope is that if any major problems occur, they will crop up within the next 11 months.
There is a general “punch list” of nearly 25 items that still must be completed to the city’s satisfaction, many of which were purposely delayed in order to better sequence the work and take advantage of weather.
Also, the city has received a list from the plant supervisor, seeking approval for the purchase of material to finish cosmetic items and add some additional programming to the electronic telemetry that was not covered in the bid documents. Requested items add up to an estimated cost of $12,700.
