Tom Reber, the City Administrative Services Coordinator for Bonney Lake, has tendered his resignation as of Tuesday. Reber came to the city in April and intends to return to private consulting work.
"He's a good man and a good friend," Mayor Bob Young said. "He's a likable fellow and works really well with people."
Councilman Neil Johnson noted Reber would be missed by the council members and the city. "He came to our council retreat on his own volition, and he really ran with the ball on Bonney Lake Days, Senior Center construction and a lot of different programs. I think it was unfortunate he wasn't used properly."
This is the second job vacancy the city must fill in 2004. Public Works Director Seth Boettcher also resigned as of Tuesday to take a job as city engineer in Puyallup.
Young reported the city will begin advertising for a new person to fill Reber's position and interviews for an interim Public Works Director would start the first week of January.
