The public is invited to a city-sponsored ribbon-cutting Friday afternoon, an event that will symbolically complete the downtown Streetscape project.

The event will begin at 3 p.m. at the corner of Cole Street and Initial Avenue.

Les Johnson, community development director for the city, said Streetscape is "98 to 99 percent complete." The final steps will be to install the remainder of the etched stones in the downtown sidewalks.
