A "Support Our Troops" parade will roll through downtown Enumclaw Saturday.

The event is slated to begin at 11 a.m. and is being sponsored by the local Veterans of Foreign Wars organization and the Enumclaw Area Chamber of Commerce. The parade will form at Washington and Cole, then travel south on Cole Street to Veterans Memorial Park.

A ceremony at the park will include music and some short speeches.

According to parade organizer Elmer Holmquist, the parade was conceived as a show of support for troops fighting the current war in Iraq and, also, "to show the families of those troops we're behind them, too."

Those interested in participating will gather at 10 a.m.

For more information about Saturday's event, contact the chamber office at 360-825-7666.
