Enumclaw Lions Club members will be outside the Safeway and QFC grocery stores Friday and Saturday, collecting donations for the Northwest Lions Foundation for Sight and Hearing.

Money raised through the “White Cane Days” effort goes toward the foundation’s cornea transplant program and other sight- and hearing-related programs available to Northwest residents.

Since 1969, the Seattle-based foundation has provided more than 38,000 corneas for sight-restoring transplants. The foundation recovers, prepares and distributes corneas to transplant surgeons who care for the blind.
