County authorities

continue investigation into Thursday incident

Details remained sketchy Monday morning as Pierce County sheriff’s detectives continued investigating the case of a Buckley-area man found shot to death.

Robert Irby, 61, was found dead Thursday afternoon. Media reports, citing the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office, indicated he died from gunshot wounds to the head and torso.

Irby was reportedly discovered about 4 p.m. Thursday by his girlfriend, who then dialed 911. Irby resided in the 12100 block of 275th Avenue East.

County authorities are asking anyone with information about the case to call Crime Stoppers at 253-591-5959.
