Hundreds turned out to participate in Enumclaw’s American Cancer Society Relay For Life June 20 and 21 at J.J. Smith Elementary School, including a large group of cancer survivors. The survivors took the first lap around the track, followed by a Heroes Lap and a team lap. Nearly 40 teams with close to 500 participants made up this year’s Relay. Another large crowd gathered for the luminary ceremony at sunset. Paper bags with the names of those fighting, or those who have died from, cancer glowed in the darkness. A fundraiser, the Enumclaw Relay For Life made more than $70,000.
