Fire Chief Alan Predmore ordered a “total burn ban” for the city of Buckley, which became effective at midnight Friday.

Under the terms of the total burn ban, otherwise legal campfires are not permitted, including fires in patio chimeneas and charcoal-fueled barbecue grills.

Gas-fueled barbecues may still be used during the ban, but anyone using a gas grill is asked to exercise caution and have a properly-rated fire extinguisher immediately available.

The total burn ban will remain in effect until Predmore issues a new order.
