Too many broken TVs dropped off at second-hand store

More Pennies from Heaven has been inundated with television sets. Eight showed up on the Enumclaw Cole Street second-hand store's back porch recently.
It's not that those who run the shop are ungrateful but they have to pay, about $25 each, to dispose of the televisions, whether they are working or not. As a nonprofit agency, that cost takes money away from those it serves. The store sells donated items to help the community's needy.
More Pennies from Heaven manager Debbie Games said there's been some confusion.
Goodwill offers a recycling program where they accept televisions and computers and, when possible, refurbish them for resale.
More Pennies from Heaven is not a Goodwill organization. It is locally run by Plateau Outreach Ministries. There are, however, Goodwill drop-off sites at Rose's IGA in Buckley and in Bonney Lake at Walmart.
More Pennies from Heaven is also not equipped to handle donations of microwaves or mattresses, Games said.
