Pickup hits telephone pole in Black Diamond Sunday | Driver airlifted to trauma center

A 35-year-old man driving a pickup at a high speed hit a telephone pole along state Route 169 in Black Diamond at about 7:15 p.m. Sunday.

According to a release from Tim Perciful, spokesman for Mountain View Fire and Rescue, the pole fell and power lines were on the ground.

When firefighters and emergency personnel arrived they found the pickup upside down.

The man was seriously injured and was airlifted to an area trauma center.

The SR 169 was closed south of Roberts Drive for an investigation and to replace the telephone pole.
