In the aftermath of the Feb. 6 burglary shooting in Tacoma Point, the Dieringer School District is hosting a forum for concerned community members to meet with emergency responders.
Neighborhood Safety Information Night will take place at 7 p.m. Tuesday at North Tapps Middle School.
Sgt. Roger Toles with the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department will be on hand to discuss crime statistics for the region and patrol routes.
East Pierce Fire and Rescue representatives will explain which emergency organizations should be contacted for each school.
“With Auburn expanding into and annexing parts of the Dieringer School District, we want people to know who they should call depending on where they are,” Superintendent Judy Neumeier-Martinson said.
A representative from the neighborhood safety campaign Safe Streets will also be on hand to discuss how to organize a neighborhood watch.
For more information, call the district office at 253-862-2537.
