The Enumclaw Chamber of Commerce will soon have a new executive director, following the resignation of Cathy Rigg.
“I’ve enjoyed my time here,” said Rigg, who has been director for seven years and was assistant director for two years prior to that. “I think we’ve made Enumclaw proud and done a good job for our members.”
Riggs’ departure came suddenly and without too many details.
“I’ve had some opportunities afforded me and it’s time to look for some new challenges,” Rigg said, confirming that March 2 will be her final day in the chamber’s Cole Street office.
Bev Olson, president of the chamber’s board of directors, said Rigg was “asked to reconsider more than once.”
Olson said the status of the chamber’s two other employees, assistant director Kim Peterson and membership and marketing director Pegi Moll, has not changed.
Olson added that potential candidates have been quick to contact her about the coming vacancy.
“My fax machine has been busy,” she said, noting a new executive director could be in place prior to Riggs’ final day.
