Buckley raising money for Relay For Life
Help mom celebrate Mother’s Day and benefit others at the same time with two May fundraisers for the American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Buckley.
On May 8, the Buckley firefighters RFL team will host a spaghetti feed with dinner and music at the Buckley Eagles. Dinner, including spaghetti, salad and garlic bread, is from 4 to 8 p.m. with entertainment by The Statics. The cost is $10 per person which will benefit the Buckley firefighters’ ACS RFL team. Kids are welcome. To provide an informal R.V.S.P. to email@example.com to help with planning.
The next day, May 9, pamper mom at Buckley’s Salon 790 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. This event is sponsored by the Salon 790 RFL team. For a $15 donation to Relay For Life, guests will have hair, makeup and nails done. There will also be light refreshments and photographs.
RFL is an overnight community event in which participants celebrate cancer survivors, remember those who lost a battle with cancer, and fight back by raising funds for ACS research and other programs. In 2009 Relay For Life in Buckley raised more than $80,000 in the fight against cancer. This year’s RFL is scheduled for May 14 and 15 along River Street near the skateboard park and Youth Center.
