The show may be a week later than usual, but the tradition that makes the Spring Dairy Show an annual Plateau highlight remains the same.

This year's show takes place Saturday, May 22, at the Enumclaw Expo Center.

The Spring Dairy Show is a prelude to the Enumclaw-King County Fair and September's state fair in Puyallup.

Local kids from Chinook 4-H and the Enumclaw High School FFA, along with more than 100 other youth and their milking breed projects from across the Northwest, will be competing for ribbons and prizes.

Visitors can expect to see the ever-popular, black and white Holstein as well as Guernsey, Jersey, brown Swiss, milking short horn, Ayrshire and some rarer breeds.

Gates open at 10 a.m. The event is free.
