The public is invited to a pair of Memorial Day ceremonies offered by the local Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Members of VFW Post 1949 will host their annual service beginning at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Veterans Memorial Park.

The event will feature performances by the Gateway Community Orchestra and the Enumclaw High School chorus. Members of the Scottish Military Society will participate and the featured speaker will be Col Tracy Smiedendorf, commander of the 62nd Maintenance Group at Joint Base Lewis-McChord.

Beginning at 10 a.m. Monday, members of Post 1949 will host a short, formal service at Evergreen Memorial Park. Flags will be placed at the graves of veterans Friday. The cemetery is near the intersection of Southeast 416th Street and 200th Avenue Southeast.
