The White River School Board extended Superintendent Tom Lockyer's contract through 2013 and gave him a favorable evaluation.

"He's done everything we've asked of him since we hired him on," board member Jean Lacy said at the board's regular meeting June 9, where the contract was approved.

The board did not ask Lockyer to decline their offer to bring his salary up to a comparable level with other leaders of districts White River's size, but he did.

His salary and conditions of his contract will remain the same.

"We have built a great leadership team here in White River," Lockyer said.

He went on to state, the salaries for he and his cabinet were frozen last year and will remain so again this year.

"My interest in not taking an increase over the next three years is to find a way to bring them up to par with like size districts and preserve the great team we have built," Lockyer said.
