Angeline Road work expected to wrap up next week; Drivers should expect detours

Construction on Angeline Road in Bonney Lake is expected to wrap up next week.

According to Public Works Director Dan Grigsby, the first overlay of asphalt on the road was completed this week and next week will bring the final overlay, weather permitting.

Drivers should expect road closures and detours during construction.

Work is expected to be completed by Friday.

Grigsby said earlier this year the sewer line along Angeline has needed more than $100,000 in repairs over the last five years and has finally been replaced.

Grigsby said the repairs are part of work being done in response to the 2006 collapse of a sewer pipe near state Route 162 in Sumner. Grigsby said pipes have been replaced all up the hill, back to Angeline Road and will continue to lift station 17, located under the 410 overpass.

Following repairs, the sewer line will have an expected lifetime of more than 40 years.

The total cost of the work is approximately $1.1 million, paid from a public works trust fund loan taken out after the 2006 incident.
