Area students succeed at college; some on dean’s list, others on grad list

Enumclaw’s Shannon Pahlow was among 27 candidates Newman University recognized for the bachelor of science in nursing degree at the annual Nurses’ Pinning ceremony May 13 on the Witchita, Kan., campus.

The event is a tradition in the nursing discipline that dates back approximately 130 years in the United States. At Newman, nursing pins are placed on graduate candidates’ lapels as a symbol of their completion of the baccalaureate of science in nursing program.
