The Bonney Lake city council will vote Tuesday on clarifications as to which Bonney Lake property owners can install or keep private septic systems, and when they will be required to connect to the public sewer system.

The council meeting packet can be viewed here.

If passed, the ordinance would repeal three sections of the Bonney Lake Municipal Code and add a new section detailing for whom sewer connections are mandatory. Septic exceptions are detailed for single-family and duplex residences more than 250 feet away from a sewer main, properties that predate the section enactment so long as they are not within 250 feet of a main, and properties within the Eastown Zoning District so long as they agree to connect to public sewers within a year of availability.

In addition to the ordinance, the council is expected to make a public declaration of participation in Pierce County READS.
