Bonney Lake, WA — The Kiwanis Club of Bonney Lake is hosting the 9th Annual Bonney Lake Prayer Breakfast on April 15, 2014, 7-8 a.m.
Breakfast cost is $8 per person (cash or check only) and will take place at Cedar Ridge Retirement Community at 9515 198th Ave E in Bonney Lake.
This year the theme for the breakfast is Sow the Seeds. Special guest speaker is Pastor Elaine Swigart, Interim Pastor from Creator Lutheran Church in Bonney Lake. Pastor Swigart has spent her entire career serving eight churches as an Interim/Transitional pastor and teaching Transitional Ministry through the Presbyterian Church. Her current role as Interim Pastor at a Lutheran Church is very unique. Pastor Swigart has lived in the Lake Tapps area with her husband Jim for over 40 years.

The Kiwanis Club of Bonney Lake has been active in the Bonney Lake community with a number of service projects. Some of those projects include home repairs for senior citizens, scholarships for local high school seniors, and meal service at the Bonney Lake Senior Center during Thanksgiving and Christmas. The club has also been involved in the local Relay For Life event and have picked up dog food and related items on a weekly basis (donated by Wal Mart) and delivered them to the Humane Society in Puyallup. They also bake and serve cookies at the annual Bonney Lake Tree Lighting and have participated in the East Pierce Fire and Rescue Open House. The Kiwanis Club of Bonney Lake meets weekly at 7am on Tuesday mornings for breakfast at the Cedar Ridge Retirement Community in Bonney Lake. Guests and prospective members are welcome to attend.
