Buckley police reports June 26-July 4

BUCKLEY POLICE REPORTS

MEDICINE THEFT: At 3 p.m. June 26, a woman near North Edith Street reported that medicine had been stolen out of her purse. There were no suspects or witnesses at the time of the report and the case was forwarded to investigations.

LICENSE SUSPENDED: Shortly before midnight June 29, an officer stopped a driver on West Mason for an expired vehicle license. The Department of Licensing check returned a report that the driver was suspended. He was promptly placed under arrest and issued a citation and notice of infraction before he was released on the scene. His vehicle was left on the scene legally parked.

UNCONSCIOUS: At 6:43 p.m. June 30, an officer on a separate call to South Perkins Street was made aware of a man passed out in his vehicle. The officer determined the 43-year-old local was unconscious and summoned medical aid to transport him to a hospital for a suspected drug overdose.

RENTERS DISPUTE: At 7:15 p.m. June 30, an officer was dispatched to a North Cascade Street address to oversee a landlord/tenant dispute. Two renters, a 27-year-old male and female, reported that their landlord had kicked them out that night, preventing them from removing their personal property. The officer contacted the landlord, whom subsequently allowed the renters entrance to remove their belongings.

DUI: At 12:46 a.m. July 3, a vehicle was stopped for failing to obey a stop sign. The driver was determined to be DUI and booked into jail.

ASSAULT: At 9:52 p.m. July 4, officers were dispatched to 4th Street for reported trespassers on school grounds. While en route, the patrollers were advised of a fight taking place at the same location. On arrival, a 41 year old male from Carbonado, a 19 year old male from Spokane Valley and a 37 year old male from Carbonado were all contacted. The oldest and youngest subjects were taken into custody for assaulting the 37 year old man. The oldest man also had a felony warrant out of Pierce County. He was issued a citation for the assault and booked in jail for the warrant. The young man was booked into jail for assault and an additional Minor in Possession charge.
