Buckley police reports Sept. 5-11

VEHICLE HITS PEDESTRIAN: At midnight Sept. 5, an officer was dispatched to Albert Street where a pedestrian and a vehicle collided. The fire department arrived on scene and treated the pedestrian for possible knee and wrist injuries. Interviews determined the pedestrian had been on a scooter and failed to stop at the intersection, hitting the vehicle on the front passenger side.

DUI: At 12:17 a.m. Sept. 5, an officer pulled over a 41-year-old man for speeding on state Route 410 near the Lower Cemetery Road. The man was found to be driving under the influence of alcohol and with a suspended license. A background check showed two outstanding warrants for driving under the influence out of Kent and Seattle courts. He was arrested and issued infractions for speeding, having no proof of insurance and having an open container of alcohol in a vehicle. He was issued a citation for driving under the influence and driving with a suspended license. He was then transported to Kent for booking on the warrant.

ABANDONED VEHICLE: An officer on patrol at 5:55 a.m. Sept. 6 spotted a vehicle with expired registration tabs parked in the city right of way on state Route 165 at the Foothills Trail. The vehicle was parked in the same area for a couple of days, violating the municipal code. The vehicle was tagged to be towed at the registered owner’s expense if the violations were not corrected within 24 hours.

WHITE POWDER: At 7:45 p.m. Sept. 7, an officer was advised to contact the jail regarding contents in a prisoner’s purse. The officer retrieved a white powder from the purse that tested positive for methamphetamine. The female prisoner was given two additional charges.

LICENSE SUSPENDED: At 1:32 p.m. Sept. 11, a 20-year-old woman was cited for driving with a suspended license. She was arrested, issued an infraction and citation and released on location.
