• Green River Community College Enumclaw campus gallery presents “Testing Boundaries,” featuring artist Lisa Strauss. The exhibit runs through Dec. 22. Community Gym

The Black Diamond gymnasium is located at 25511 Lawson St. (behind the Cenex gas station). Programs are provided by the Black Diamond Community Center.

• The Donald Loomis Memorial Clothing Bank in Buckley gives away clothing and other items to those who live within the White River and Carbonado school districts. The clothing bank is located behind Glacier Middle School around the back bus loop; follow the signs off River Avenue.

It is open from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesdays and 10 a.m. to noon, the first and third Saturday of each month; and 6 to 8 p.m. the first Tuesday of each month. • The Greenwater Community Center and local merchants will host Greenwater Mountain Holidays Dec. 5-7. There will be a bazaar at the center all three days; a parade and caroling at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 6, followed by a performance by the Enumclaw Middle School choir and the Christmas tree lighting. • Spend a day strolling through beautifully crafted nativity sets from all around the world at the Latter-day Saints Church’s fifth annual Nativity Exhibit from 6 to 9 p.m. Dec. 5 and Dec. 6 and 5 to 8 p.m. Dec. 7 in Maple Valley. A special viewing is available from 1 to 3 p.m. Dec. 6. This year, activities also include making Christmas cards, ornaments, dress up in nativity clothing and having their picture taken. • The Enumclaw Guild of Seattle Children’s hospital will host its annual Christmas luncheon and silent auction Dec. 3 at the Moose hall. • The Enumclaw School District provides free child development screenings throughout the school year for preschool-aged children who are not enrolled in public school and may have special needs. Screening results are shared with parents and, if necessary, further testing is recommended. The purpose of the screening is to identify issues that could affect a child’s success in school.

Special needs may include concerns with any of the following: hearing, vision, speech, language, health, learning, behavior, birth defects, developmental delays, orthopedic problems, mental retardation, autism or other disabilities.

• The Buckley Senior Center offers free van transportation from home to the center for lunch Monday, Tuesday and Friday weekly. Seniors who live within the White River School District are eligible to have the van come pick them up. The van also takes seniors to the post office, food bank, drug store and Farm Fresh Produce. • Join the folks at the center for an afternoon of bunco the second Monday of the month. Newcomers are welcome. Win prizes, have fun and learn a new game. The cost to play is $1.

• The center offers Mexican train dominos on Monday afternoons. New to the game? We will teach you how to play. Games start at 10:30 a.m.

• The center’s “Golden Beginnings” group includes all seniors. They meet for friendship, to play cards and for a potluck lunch.

• The center now offers seated yoga classes from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Tuesdays. Aerobics are on Friday. There is a $1 fee.

A very flexible program, volunteers use their own vehicles and choose which weekdays and where they wish to drive. Enumclaw Youth Center

• Free drop-in enrichment, recreation center and computer lab for kids ages 10 to 18. Regular drop-in hours are 3 to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. Tutoring is available by special arrangements. Call the center for information.

Black Diamond Youth

• The Black Diamond Before and After School Kids (BASK) program is a licensed school-age childcare program for children in grades kindergarten through sixth with low fees. Black Diamond Community Center staff provide a variety of educational and recreational activities for the kids.

The BASK program is available between 6 and 8:45 a.m. (school breakfast is available at 8:30 a.m.), and 3 to 6:30 p.m. On early release days, the program is offered between noon and 6:30 p.m. and most full days that school is closed from 6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Youth need to bring lunches on early release and full days.

Fees during the school year are based on a sliding scale, ranging from $3.75 to $8 per three-hour AM or PM session. Discounts are available for multi-children families on the Enumclaw School District free and reduced lunch program. • Creative movement and dance classes with Deana Ostgard are offered from 11 a.m. to noon Tuesdays for youth ages 3 to 5. • The Black Diamond Community Center offers Get On Track from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesdays. The focus of this group is to educate youth ages 13 to 17 who are in danger of entering the Juvenile Justice System or who have court ordered hours. Each session qualifies for 1.5 hour community service time. Youth earn 15 hours upon completion of the program. Youth and parents are required to attend a two-hour intake interview prior to attendance. Call Judith or Leslie at 360-886-9844 to make an appointment.

• Tutoring is available for all Enumclaw School District students at the Black Diamond Community Center from 6 to 9 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday during the normal school term. Tutors are available for all grades in the following subjects: math, science, English, reading, Spanish, American studies, and study skills. Buckley Youth

Center

The Buckley Youth Activities Center is open 2:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 1:30 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday. It is located on River Avenue next to the post office. For information call 360-829-6534 or visit the Web site at www.cityofbuckley.com.

• Free tutoring for grades six to 12 is offered from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays and from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays for grades kindergarten through eight.

• Play-Dayz offers toddler music classes at 10 a.m. Mondays; art classes at 10 a.m. Tuesdays and toddler yoga at 11:40 a.m.

• A Texas Hold’em competition begins at 3:30 p.m. today, Wednesay.

• The center will be closed Thursday and Friday for the Thanksgiving holiday.
