Crews are making progress repairing damaged areas of US 12 over White Pass and are on track for reopening the pass by Christmas.

US 12 remains closed to through traffic from the junction of US 12 and SR 123 near milepost 138 to the intersection of US 12 and the Upper Tieton Road near milepost 159. When US 12 reopens, a traffic light will direct traffic through a single lane near the repaired areas both east and west of the pass. Drivers can expect minor delays.

Recreationalists and residents can expect minor impacts east of White Pass on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 19. Crews are closing a small area near the Rimrock tunnel to repave an area of the roadway damaged by a rockslide last week. Access will be allowed to sno-parks and other recreational areas in the vicinity, however motorists may need to use local roads to do so.
