Did Farrah finally get her wings and Michael his crown?

It has been said that when Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson died, so did the 1970s.

Both were icons in my era. Farrah was known for her gorgeous body and long, beautiful hair. Her career was launched by her red swimsuit poster made popular by many teenage males. In fact, I may still have mine stored somewhere. She became America’s new sex goddess.

Michael was a gifted musical prodigy who was idolized by countless fans around the world. We saw him grow up with the group the Jackson Five.

She was called an Angel and he was called a King. Although they both experienced what life offers only a privileged few, they both succumbed to an all too familiar end known as death.

So, what finally happened to them?

Did Farrah finally get her wings? Did Michael finally receive his crown?

God, I hope so. You see, I don’t want anyone to go to HELLow (the other place).

For the most part it is believed that Michael did not officially practice any one religion devoutly, although he did explore different alternative religions throughout his life.

Michael was born into a Jehovah’s Witness family and practiced this religion until after his hit “Thriller” was released. In 1987, when the Jehovah’s Witnesses criticized his album, Michael Jackson announced that he was no longer a member. In 2007, he briefly took interest in Islam when his brother Jermaine became a practicing Muslim. Recently, for a brief period of time, he wore a red string on his left wrist, a symbol of Kabbalah. Rumor had it that Michael became a Christian a few weeks before he died. This was later found to be nothing more than wishful thinking.

Andrae and Sandra Crouch, both devout Christians and musicians, were invited by Jackson to meet with him a few weeks before his death.

Although Michael asked some questions about spirituality in music and they even prayed together, according to Andrae, Michael did not pray to receive Jesus Christ as his lord and savior.

Could it have been God, trying one more time to reach Michael?

Farrah, when healthy, did not show much indication that she was a true believer. This is not to say she didn’t do any good or indicate that she was a bad person.

However, when it was discovered that she had cancer, some major changes took place.

According to her last film (a documentary), she is seen praying, believing and calling on God for a miracle.

But when things were not getting any better, she appeared to have sought out some unconventional religious practices and new age thinking – just in case.

When they failed, she went back to her Catholic faith. On her last day on earth, a priest was summoned to give her the last rites.

Will she get in to heaven even if it was a last-ditch effort?

Will she make it even if she lived most, if not all, her life without God? Yes, it is possible, just ask the thief on the cross.

Did she make it to heaven? I seriously would like to think so. One day, I will find out. And if she is there, just maybe then I can get her to sign my poster.

One thing is for sure, if you are reading this article it’s not too late for you to seal your fate.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16).

See you in church; better yet, in heaven.
