Doughnut fundraiser is aiming for Disney trip

Jazmine Walker’s friends want to send the 2005 Enumclaw High School graduate and her family to Disney World.

They’re hoping their Donuts for Disney fundraising effort will help.

A Hornet cheerleader and homecoming queen, Walker was diagnosed with a brain tumor her senior year. She won the battle and headed off to Washington State University, where she graduated and was working on a master’s degree when the symptoms came back. She is currently undergoing radiation and chemotherapy.

According to friends, Walker’s wish is to have her entire blended family, including mom, stepdad, seven siblings and four nieces and nephews, go to Disney World.

The fundraising pace has been picked up due to Walker’s short window of time in December, between treatments, when the doctor thinks she will be well enough to go.

Friends are preselling Krispy Kreme Doughnuts for $10 a dozen through Tuesday for pick up between 2 and 4 p.m. Nov. 16 at Enumclaw High School.

Organizers want buyers to know they have no way of storing unclaimed orders.
