ID THEFT: A victim reported an unknown person had opened a Discovery credit card account and a PayPal account in his name. He contacted both companies and had the accounts closed before they were used. Account information provided to police for follow-up investigation.
TOO INTOXICATED, TOO YOUNG: At 7:31 p.m. Aug. 9, an officer responded to an unconscious and unresponsive person at the skate park. An 18-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man were found to be intoxicated. Both were issued criminal citations with a court date. The woman was transported to Enumclaw hospital for her high alcohol reading.
DUI: At 5:01 a.m. Aug. 11, an officer stopped a vehicle for a defective license plate light. On closer inspection, there was nothing wrong with the light; rather, the driver had not activated his headlights. The 20-year-old driver was subjected to some voluntary sobriety tests and subsequently placed under arrest for driving under the influence.
LICENSE SUSPENDED: At 9:31 p.m. Aug. 11, an officer stopped a driver because her car’s records showed the registered owner to have a suspended license. The woman did not believe her license was suspended. Nevertheless, she was placed under arrest and issued a criminal citation. The officer released her and her vehicle on the scene, advising her not to drive until the matter was resolved.
IF I’VE TOLD YOU ONCE…: At 9:48 p.m., an officer stopped a vehicle on Mason Avenue for expired registration. The man driving was placed under arrest for driving on a suspended license. He summoned an acquaintance to recover his vehicle. After she walked to the scene, the officer determined her license was also suspended and warned her she couldn’t drive. The woman promised to call a licensed driver to the scene, and the officer cleared the call. However, as he was leaving, he turned around and observed the same vehicle already traveling on the roadway, being driven by the woman he had just warned. He stopped the vehicle again and placed her under arrest.
MALICIOUS MISCHIEF/DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: At 5:46 p.m. Aug. 12, a 46-year-old Buckley woman reported her 20-year-old son had damaged her cell phone while in an argument. The son had left the residence before officers arrived.
