Bring your non-perishable items to your 1st period class.  Earn a choice of a Kettle scramble, Kettle muffins or donuts!!!!  Let’s win the Battle!

 

The Pennies for Patients fundraising group would like to thank you to all those who generously donated to cancer research and patient care.  The sum of the money raised came to $237.74, (now that’s a lot of pennies to count) Nice work E.H.S.

 

Seniors-  Awesome job on turning in local scholarship applications.  There were 574 turned in.  Way to go!

 

Green River Community College – Open House and Resource Fair

The next Credit Retrieval session beginning Monday, April 29th will be cancelled if there are not enough signed-up by end of day TODAY.

 

If you are interested in auditioning for the Talent Show, auditions will be held TODAY from 2:30 to 4:00PM in the choir room (#314).  Sign-up in the Activities Office if you are interested.  If you have further questions please see Ms. Weinbrecht, Mr. Lightbody of any senior class officer.

 

Be a Class Officer for 2013-14 School Year!!! Pick up a Class Officer Candidacy Form in the Activities Office today.  Bring your completed form, petition and cover letter to the Activities Office by Friday, April 19 by 3:00PM.

 

Attention Freshman:  Our LAST get together is TODAY in the gym.  Come celebrate successfully completing your freshman year.  (it’s almost done)  Don’t miss out, it’ll be fun!

This Thursday is Opening Night of “Antigone” a Greek Tragedy that tells the tale of a girl who fights against a kingdom that has wronged her.  Will she choose life?  Will she choose death?  Either way it only takes an hour!  There is screaming.  There are swords.  There will be dirt!  Thursday 7:30pm in the Auditorium.  Admission is FREE to all students with ASB.

 

If you’re not excited enough, get ready!  The final auditions of the year for the final play of the year are this Friday at 1:30pm.  If you are a senior always wondering what it’s like to be in a High School play this is the last chance!  If you’re a freshman always wondering what it’s like to be in a High School play this is a great chance!

 

It’s a big comedy.  Ha ha ha!  See you Friday at 1:30pm.

Information in Review:

 

Attention all Juniors:  the SAT test on June 1st is fast approaching and all college-bound juniors are encouraged to take this test.  To get you ready for the test, EHS will again be offering the SAT Prep Course beginning Tuesday, May 7th.  The course will meet on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and will run for four weeks.  Students can register for the Prep Course by dropping off the $100 course fee with Ramona at the main office.

 

The District Art Show will be on Thursday, May 16th and Ms. Weber is now accepting entries until Wednesday, May 1st.  Please see Ms. Weber or any member from the National Art Honor Society for an entry form so you can show case your artistic talent.

 

Do you lose clothing, books, jewelry?  Please check with Mavis in the Attendance Office for articles left behind.

 

This message is for National Honor Society members who joined prior to this spring only.  Your service hour verification is due by April 30th. Seniors who have not turned in hours by that date will not be recognized on the graduation program.  See Mrs. Ross or Mrs. Sandfer if you have questions or need suggestions for hours.

 

Attention National Honor Society members.  Your 6 hours of community service are due on Tuesday, April 30th.  If you are in need of hours, the Guide Dogs for the Blind need servers for their charity breakfast on Saturday, April 27th from 9 – 11 am.  If you are interested in helping out, please see Mr. Basting in room 419.

 

Applications for next year’s EHS Cheer Team are available now in the Athletic Office.   Tryouts begin right

The April/May Scholarship and College Information Lists are now available.  Go to the Career Center Swift Webpage to download a copy or stop by the counseling or career center to pick up a copy.

 

Seattle Spring College Fair – Come meet representatives from over 100 colleges on Saturday, April 20 from 12 pm to 3 pm at the Connelly Center at Seattle University.  Go to www.gotocollegefairs.com to register.

 

If you are a student who is interested in Running Start, there will be an information session at the Lindbloom Student Center at GRCC’s main campus on Monday, April 22nd at 6:30 pm, and Tuesday, April 30th at 5:30 pm.

 

CLUBS:

 

Native American /Alaskan Native Club meets monthly with no fees to participate. The group will learn leadership skills and participate in cultural events. If you have questions please see Cathy in the Counseling Center.

 

Spanish Club is a group that celebrates Hispanic and Latino culture and practices the use of the Spanish language.  The club is organized and ran by student leaders in the University of Washington Spanish class.  Spanish club meets once a month in Profa. Stewart’s room 141 from 2:45-3:45.  Each month we learn and celebrate a topic related to Hispanic and/or Latino Heritage.  This is great place to meet friends, earn culture credit points, and have a good time.  Membership dues are $5.00 per semester.  2012/2013 dates: 4/11, and 5/9.

 

Weight Club days and times for the winter season are now Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 2:45-4:00.  Join today!  Please pay the cashier $10.00 along with a signed weight club form.  Please see Coach Gunderson with any questions or Coach Murrell (Stussy)

The Enumclaw Clothing Bank:   We are open every Tuesday from 10am-6pm. (closed on school closures and holidays)  We are located at the JJ Smith building on Fell St. in the old library. Sheila Smith 360-829-6605

 

YoungLife is on Monday nights at 7:37PM in Senior Locker Bay.  All students are welcome.

 

  • Come to the 18th Annual Enumclaw School District Pow Wow Friday night, May 3rd with grand entry at 7:00 pm. This is a FREE event and a wonderful cultural experience close to home at the high school gym. It is a great opportunity to bring your family and friends to experience first hand our Native American culture and dance traditions.  There will be vendors, frybread, and Indian tacos to purchase.   We hope to see you at the Pow Wow!

 

Seniors:  Grad Night representatives will be at both lunches on Thursday to collect your money and forms.  You can pick up an informational packet in the Main Office or outside the Activity Office.  Don’t miss out on this fun event!  Purchase your ticket before all the spots are gone.

 

  • The Lake Tapps Lacrosse Club will be playing at Pete’s Pool on Wednesday, April 17th,   JV plays at 6:00 and Varsity at 8:00. Admission is FREE. Saturday, April 20 is rally day for LTLC – come and see lots of lacrosse being played all day out at Pete’s.  JV plays at 4:00 and Varsity at 8:00 – admission – FREE!!! The LTLC girls Varsity will play at 6:00. Come on out and support some local EHS players.
