DOMESTIC SITUATION: Staff at the St. Elizabeth Hospital emergency room notified police at 11:44 a.m. July 31 after an adult female told them she had been abandoned. About the same time, a man entered the police station to report domestic trouble. Police determined the issues were related and, upon further investigation, it was learned the two people had been involved in a verbal domestic disturbance that occurred between Puyallup and Enumclaw. Soon, both were returning to Puyallup, she in a cab and he in a personal vehicle.
VEGETABLE MATTER: Police contacted two juveniles just after midnight Aug. 1 who were parked at a Farrelly Street location. An officer found they were in possession of a small amount of green vegetation; parents were called to pick up the juveniles and move the vehicle.
UNWANTED: Police heard of an unwanted customer in the lobby of a Cole Street business, creating a disturbance, the morning of Aug. 1. An officer made contact and offered a courtesy ride to the man, who refused to provide any personal information.
DOG BITE: Police responded Aug. 1 after a man reported being bitten by a dog on Garfield Street. Local police took a report and advised King County Animal Control of the situation.
FAMILY TROUBLE: A 15-year-old girl called police Aug. 1, upset because her father had allegedly been yelling at her. She added that her father had been drinking. Police responded and determined the girl had been drinking. All were counseled and the girl agreed to go to bed for the night.
DRUG CHARGE: A traffic stop at 3:52 a.m. July 30 resulted in one person booked for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The vehicle was impounded and the subject was released to his grandmother.
LOUD CAMPERS: Police responded several times July 30 and 31 to complaints of campers being loud or causing trouble in the Enumclaw Expo Center parking lots. The center grounds were full due to the Scottish Highland Games.
TWO CALLS: Officers responded twice during the first hour of July 30 to a Roosevelt Avenue location. The first response came at about 12:14 a.m. after police heard from shoppers who were concerned about the welfare of a small child, as three adults in charge appeared to be intoxicated. An officer found drinking was not an issue. Police were called again about 40 minutes later to a verbal dispute involving the same subjects. The issue was settled upon police contact.
HOT DOG: Police were notified the afternoon of July 30 by several callers who were concerned about a dog locked in a vehicle driven by someone attending the Highland Games at the Enumclaw Expo Center. Police contacted venue officials and eventually found the pet owner, who was leaving the event. Police warned the pet owner of the dangers of leaving an animal in a vehicle on a hot day.
DISORDERLY: Police responded at 8:42 p.m. July 30 to a business on 284th Avenue Southeast. A man was arrested for disorderly conduct and malicious mischief. He was taken to the police station for booking.
