Enumclaw’s Spring Expo is ready to launch its three-day run, beginning Friday. Doors will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. the first two days and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. The event features free parking and admission is $1, with kids younger than 3 entering free.

Discount tickets are available through Thursday at the Enumclaw Parks and Recreation Department.

The Spring Expo will be a popular destination for those looking to spruce up their homes.

Nurseries will be on site with fresh ideas and plants to take home. For those needing gardening advice on a budget, local garden expert Marianne Binetti will be presenting at 4 p.m. Friday. Other demonstrations include pruning and worm composting.

The exhibit hall will host more than 75 craft and gift vendors. Spring exhibits will be on display outside as well with lawn art, fountains, lawn furniture and other home improvement items.

In the rodeo arena there will be plenty to see. The Trailblazer 4-H group is sponsoring a rodeo gaming show all day Saturday and the Northwest Barrel Racers have a competition all day Sunday. Admission is free to those events upon paid admission into the fair.

Two stages will have continuous entertainment.

The Enumclaw High School FFA will sponsor a petting zoo and the Expo also will feature plenty of goats, alpacas and rabbits.

There will be three performances each day by Professor Bamboozle and local band Cylas will perform from 5 to 7 p.m. on the main stage. Enumclaw country female vocalist Rae Solomon entertains during the lunch hour Saturday and a male country vocalist hits the stage at 5. Wrapping up Sunday will be Boys of Greenwood Glen with a little Irish bluegrass.

The Maple Valley Rednecks will compete on their racing lawnmowers and a tractor pull competition is on the schedule, too. The lawnmowers and tractors, along with models provided by two antique tractor clubs, will be on display throughout the event.

Kids of all ages will be entertained in the midway Saturday and Sunday with games and activities like a mechanical bull, trampoline with bungee, rock climbing wall, laser tag, paintball, arcade games, hay rides and hot air balloon rides. Peak Gymnastics will be open with shows, indoor park, carnival activities and a pancake breakfast both Saturday and Sunday.

To satisfy everyone’s appetite, there will be a selection of typical fair food vendors.
