Fire Marshal implements county wide burn ban

Pierce County Fire Marshal announced a county-wide stage one burn ban is to take effect at 12:01 a.m., July 29. The burn ban will continue until further notice.

Pierce County Fire Marshal announced a county-wide stage one burn ban is to take effect at 12:01 a.m., July 29. The burn ban will continue until further notice.

The ban is due to the expected continuation of hot and dry weather. During the burn ban, all outdoor burning is prohibited, except for outdoor fireplaces, established campfires in approved locations, cooking appliances such as barbecues and recreational fires less than three feet in diameter.

Anyone with approved DNR burn permits is advised to call 800-323-BURN for more details.
