The King County Parks Foundation has assembled a group of top business and civic leaders to serve as an advisory board in support of the foundation’s activities. Laird Norton Wealth Management provided the foundation’s first gift of $75,000 in honor of King County Parks’ 75th anniversary.
“The leaders serving on the advisory board are committed to our legacy of parks, trails, and open spaces, and I am grateful for their service,” said King County Executive Dow Constantine. “With their help, the King County Parks Foundation will get a strong start in securing the future of our treasured public lands.”
King County Parks Foundation Board of Advisers will serve for a three-year term. Board members are:

- Terry Lavender, community leader
- Louise Miller, former King County Councilmember
- Bob Moser, CEO, Laird Norton Wealth Management
- Bob Ratliffe, managing director, Silver Creek Capital

- Maggie Walker, community leader
The King County Parks Foundation is committed to cultivating private-sector philanthropy to connect communities to regional trails, open space and parks and to support the resiliency of the parks system for future generations.
With the Laird Norton Wealth Management gift and a dedicated fund established at The Seattle Foundation, the foundation set a goal of raising $750,000 in the next year and $7.5 million over the next 10 years.
In addition to providing support to grow and connect green space and trails networks and to expand recreational opportunities across King County’s parks and trails, the foundation will focus on the development of “legacy” projects, including restoration and access improvements at the 250-acre Maury Island site, and advancing improvements to King County’s portion of the Eastside Rail Corridor.
