Nighttime drivers headed east on Interstate 90 should be prepared for hour-long closures near Snoqualmie Pass for one more week.

For about an hour at a time, the eastbound lanes of I-90 will close multiple times throughout the night between 9 p.m. and 9 a.m. Monday night, June 22, through Friday morning, June 26. During the closures, eastbound drivers will be stopped at milepost 56 near Gold Creek. Westbound drivers may experience minor delays for a single-lane closure during the same timeframes.

The closures are necessary while the Washington State Department of Transportation and contractor crews set girders for the new eastbound avalanche bridge. This work is part of the $551 million project that builds a wider, safer and more reliable stretch of I-90 from Hyak to Keechelus Dam.

It’s going to be a very busy construction season over Snoqualmie Pass.
