A free event at the Buckley Pierce County Library, 123 S. River Ave., will be held at 11 a.m. Oct. 19. Participants will hear from Lyn Peters, of the Washington State Department of Financial Institutions, about ways to protect against identity theft and fraud.

Free document shredding will be provided after the event, until 2 p.m.
