A woman called police at 1:37 a.m. Aug. 4, stating she was locked inside a Roosevelt Avenue laundry facility and could not get out. Police responded and, not seeing anyone, assumed she had made it out. A second call about an hour later from the woman, who was still locked in. She had been hiding when police first responded. Officers were able to resolve her predicament.

LOCKED IN: A woman called police at 1:37 a.m. Aug. 4, stating she was locked inside a Roosevelt Avenue laundry facility and could not get out. Police responded and, not seeing anyone, assumed she had made it out. A second call about an hour later from the woman, who was still locked in. She had been hiding when police first responded. Officers were able to resolve her predicament.

GUN DISCHARGED: The manager of a Cole Street hotel called police the morning of Aug. 3, reporting a gun had been discharged about 1 a.m. that day. One individual was taken into custody and delivered to the police station for booking.

CONCERN FOR KIDS: A citizen contacted police at 6:13 p.m. Aug. 2 after finding a small child in the road; the child was returned home, where another child was found to be babysitting. While an officer was at the McKinley Street residence an adult arrived. The officer counseled the adult about leaving children unattended.

NEEDING HELP: A report was issued at 5:25 p.m. Aug. 1 about an individual who was possibly intoxicated, sitting in a vehicle in the St. Elizabeth Hospital parking lot. Both police and hospital security made contact and discovered it was not an intoxicated person but, instead, someone in pain attempting to get to the hospital.
