The container contained phone connection supplies, and no ownership information. The original caller was unable to provide physical descriptions of the two people who had driven away. The container was placed into evidence.

VEHICLE PROWL: At 7:59 a.m. Nov. 15, an officer spoke to a citizen about a vehicle prowl that had occurred at her residence the night before. She said she had parked her car in her driveway at 10 p.m. the night before, unlocked. When she returned to her car in the morning, she noticed the car had been entered and several items removed. The missing items were shoes, two wallets, and a day planner. The wallets and planner contained personal items and paperwork, including social security cards. The officer advised her to contact the Social Security Administration, her bank and employers to notify them her personal information had been stolen. The officer also advised her to conduct frequent credit checks on herself to make sure no one was using her identity or opening new accounts. There was no suspect information at the time of the report.

He contacted the suspect man as he was leaving the store, told him why he was stopping him, and put him in handcuffs for a search. The officer found a pair of pants, tags attached, under the front of the man’s coat. The man said he was returning the pants, and forgot the receipt. The store loss prevention officer reviewed surveillance footage and found the man had taken the pants. The man was arrested for theft. He was being interviewed by detectives at the time of the police report.

The bicycle had been there most of the day, but she had just noticed the backpack, which was particularly conspicuous for a machete protruding from it. The manager said she would store the bicycle, but was uncomfortable having the machete around. The backpack contained the machete, three bicycle lights, two packs of flea and tick medication for cats, cortisone ointment, a hat, ear swabs, hydrogen peroxide and two bottles of makeup. The backpack and contents were placed into evidence. Nothing further at the time of the report.
