Online auction to aid elk art in Enumclaw

Costs for the art project were higher than expected.

A small hiccup has occurred for Enumclaw’s “Elk on the Trail,” art piece, the city’s soon-to-be newest art along the Foothills Trail.

Because of this, an online auction from June 29 to July 1 aims to help the Enumclaw Garden Club raise some extra funds.

The art installation will feature a herd of life size elk made out of stainless steel, said Garden Club spokeswoman Twyla Colvin.

However, lighting the piece will cost more than expected — between $15,000 and $20,000. The club has already raised $5,000.

Colvin estimated the new completion date will be around Thanksgiving this year.

The auction will feature many items and services, including a sandstone garden bench, garden consultation, Auburn Symphony tickets, Treats Heating certificate, a 4th of July handmade quilt, garden art from the Elk Artist, wine rack from Italy, hand crafted wood plate and more.

Purchased items can be picked up at C.C’s Collectables in Enumclaw.
