OPENED WINDOWS: On May 7 officers were called to a report of windows and a sliding glass door being open at a residence. The reporting party told officers all the windows and the door were shut when they left the house that morning. It did not appear anything was stolen. The reporting party also called to report the smell of gas, but East Pierce Fire and Rescue could not find a gas leak.

DUDE, DAWG, BRO: Officers pulled over a male driver going 39 mph in a 25 mph zone. The driver did not have insurance for the vehicle, as it was his grandmother’s. Officers smelled burnt marijuana coming from the car and the driver appeared easily distracted and continued to refer to officers as “dude,” “dawg,” and “bro.” Officers asked the driver if he smoked recently. The man said yes but he was no longer high and agreed to voluntary field tests. The tests revealed the man was impaired. He was arrested and the car towed.
