• A man arrived in the police station lobby at 5 p.m. July 7 wishing to turn himself in. He was the subject of an arrest warrant issued by the state’s Department of Corrections.

WARRANT ARREST

• A man arrived in the police station lobby at 5 p.m. July 7 wishing to turn himself in. He was the subject of an arrest warrant issued by the state’s Department of Corrections.

SHOPLIFTING AND MORE

• Police were alerted at 11:20 p.m. July 7 to female shoplifter who left a Roosevelt Avenue store and got into a white Ford pickup. An employee confronted the woman, who left the scene. Police located the suspect, who was arrested for driving under the influence, assault and shoplifting. She was taken to the station for booking and her pickup was impounded.

ASSAULTS

• A July 7 verbal dispute escalated and resulted in a man being hit in the face by a 40-year-old woman. Aid was requested for a bystander, who was taken to the local hospital, and the woman was given a citation.

• Police responded at 12:15 a.m. July 5 to a Roosevelt Avenue address after hearing of an assault. An officer contacted both the suspect and the victim and the suspect was eventually committed, involuntarily, to Auburn Regional Medical Center. While investigating the case, officers arrested an adult female for furnishing alcohol to a minor, who was the victim of the assault. The victim was taken to the local hospital for treatment and her parents were advised.

FAMILY MATTER

• A dispute between a mother and her 17-year-old daughter caused police to respond July 3 to a Kibler Avenue address. The girl appeared to be under the influence and slammed the door when she left the house. Her mother asked that she not return home that night. The teen was located and advised to call home the following morning before returning to the residence.

WELFARE CHECK

• Police were asked July 3 to check on a Florence Street resident who had been heard screaming for the past week. Police contacted the man and determined that he was fine but was making too much noise while playing video games.

PROTEST IS OK

• Police were told July 3 of someone with a protest sign in front of the Enumclaw post office. An officer determined that the protester was not causing a disturbance, was not harassing citizens and was not violating any law.

CAR VS. POLE

• City officers assisted fire department personnel and county authorities at 3:45 a.m. July 4 in the vicinity of Mud Mountain Dam Road and Southeast 473rd Street. A driver had slammed into a telephone pole, breaking the pole and causing lines to sag. The driver was transported to Enumclaw Regional Hospital and the scene was turned over to county authorities.

MENTAL HEALTH ISSUE

• Police were told July 4 of a woman wandering around Charwila Lane, wearing one shoe and ranting to people on the street. An officer advised her to refrain from talking to people and she agreed. An officer left a message with her counselor regarding the incident.

DISORDERLY

• A July 4 request for assistance at Enumclaw Regional Hospital resulted in officers taking one person into custody for disorderly conduct.

SIBLING ASSAULT

• Police responded the afternoon of July 1 to a Myrtine Street address following a report of a domestic violence situation involving siblings. A male was taken into custody and charged with assault; he also was wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant issued by the Buckley court.

ANIMAL COMPLAINT

• A July 2 report of a dog attack had an officer responding to the vicinity of Melody Lane and A Court. The suspect dogs were located and King County Animal Control took custody of the animals.

FAST, RECKLESS

• An officer was on patrol at approximately 12:30 a.m. July 1 when passed by a motorcycle traveling in excess of 100 mph. The officer pursued the suspect west on state Route 164 as far as 212th before stopping. County authorities were told of the suspect’s location, that he had been drinking and that had cause to charge him with reckless driving and eluding an officer. Authorities contacted the rider’s home, where his parents confirmed that their son was not home and that he was out on his motorcycle.

SCHOOL BURGLARY

• A report just after 5 a.m. July 1 of malicious mischief at Kibler Elementary School led to an officer’s discovery of a burglary in progress. One suspect was taken into custody and booked on the burglary charge; a second suspect fled the scene but was later identified.

BEER HEIST

• Police responded at 12:16 a.m. May 30 to a Roosevelt Avenue address where three suspects had stolen beer. One of the trio was detained by store employees. He was taken into police custody and charged with theft and being a minor in possession of alcohol.

Buckley

DRUNK DRIVER

• At 3 a.m. Sunday, police pulled over a man at the intersection of state Route 410 and Main Street who had been observed swerving back and forth between the centerline and the fog line several times. He was found to be intoxicated and was booked into the Buckley jail for driving under the influence.

LEAD FOOT

• At 1 a.m. Sunday, police arrested a man for driving through Buckley at nearly 50 mph faster than the posted speed limit in fairly heavy traffic and with a passenger in the vehicle. The man was booked into the Buckley jail for extreme reckless driving.

WASH THIS LAUNDRY

• At approximately midnight Saturday, a Division Street resident called police to report that someone had entered her residence through an unlocked sliding door, messed up her apartment and emptied several bags of clothes onto her living room floor. The woman said that she couldn’t find anything missing, but believed that the suspect may have been someone with whom she had engaged in a verbal argument with while camping. The case has been sent to investigations for follow up.

HELP SOUGHT

• Early Saturday evening a Main Street resident made a 911 call and requested that the Buckley Fire Department medical aid unit transport him to Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup, regarding severe issues with depression. The man was intoxicated.
